Permabond A1044 – Fast-Curing Anaerobic Thread Sealant

Permabond A1044 is a single-component, fast-curing sealant for securing and sealing metal pipe and threaded connections. It cures in the absence of air between metal surfaces and provides an immediate low-pressure seal after assembly.

Its excellent chemical resistance makes A1044 suitable for applications involving demanding media such as oils, fuels, water-glycol mixtures and brake fluids. Unlike PTFE tape or hemp, it does not shrink, dry out or produce loose debris that could block narrow channels or valves. This creates a durable and maintenance-friendly seal.

The high-viscosity white formulation is suitable for threads up to M56 or 2 inches and fills gaps up to 0.5 mm. At 23°C, handling strength is reached after approximately 5–10 minutes, working strength after around 30 minutes and full strength within 24 hours.

Permabond A1044 carries WRAS approval for direct contact with potable water. Typical applications include industrial pipework, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and many other metal threaded assemblies.
