Permabond A1042 – Fast-Curing, Removable Threadlocker

Permabond A1042 is a single-component anaerobic threadlocking adhesive for securing and sealing metal threaded assemblies. It cures in the absence of air between closely fitting metal surfaces and reliably prevents loosening caused by vibration and impact.

A1042 is particularly suitable as an alternative to lock washers, split pins and other mechanical locking devices. It also lubricates threads during assembly, makes fastening easier and helps protect the joint against corrosion. Its proven chemical resistance also makes it suitable for sealing small hydraulic and pneumatic fittings.

The cured joint can be dismantled using standard tools, making A1042 ideal for components that may need to be removed during maintenance or repair. It is suitable for threads up to M20 and gaps up to 0.12 mm. At 23°C, handling strength is reached in approximately 5 minutes and working strength in around 30 minutes. Full cure is achieved within 24 hours.

Permabond A1042 is KTW-BWGL compliant and carries WRAS approval for contact with potable water.
