Digital Work Permit in Maintenance – Integrated into SAP PM
Performing safety-relevant work in maintenance is unthinkable without work permits and approval processes. Traditionally, however, these processes are handled on paper – involving high documentation effort, media disruption, and a lack of transparency. With the digital work permit in the argvis Maintenance Portal, we bring this process directly into the digital world – fully integrated into SAP PM.
Our solution enables the creation, editing, and documentation of work permits directly based on SAP maintenance objects – for example, those associated with notifications or orders. Users – whether maintenance technicians, safety officers, or plant managers – access approved templates via an intuitive interface, can perform risk-based checks, and document individual requirements for each activity. All steps are system-managed, role-based, and tracked with time stamps.
A multi-stage approval process ensures that everyone involved – from the worker to the supervisor – is legally protected and informed. The solution can be used on mobile devices, even offline, thus offering maximum flexibility in the field.
A particular highlight: The digital work permit is based entirely on the SAP PM standard. No additional third-party software is required – all data remains securely in the SAP system. At the same time, the solution is ready for immediate use and can be individually adapted to specific requirements.
