Locating bearing damage with an acoustic camera

Locating bearing damage in noisy operations on your transport systems, conveyor belts and rolling bearings in general is a challenge for technicians, but not for an acoustic camera.

Defective bearings are commonplace in transport systems, but locating these squeaking "colleagues" is often a challenge for maintenance technicians because the transport systems generate considerable noise. Acoustic cameras have special software algorithms that efficiently filter out operational noise and isolate the sounds of defective bearings, displaying them live on the camera screen. The image shows such a bearing nearing the end of its service life; the colored dot in the image indicates the source of the noise. Read more about this in the accompanying PDF.
