Digital continuity after the merger – how Hawa Sliding Solutions AG and MuM laid the foundation for tomorrow

A company merger is more than just an organizational act – it also puts the IT landscape to the test. When EKU AG and Hawa AG merged in 2017 to form Hawa Sliding Solutions AG, a world-leading specialist for sliding door systems was created, operating at the unique intersection of mechanical engineering and construction. Two locations, two established CAD and PDM environments – and one clear goal: a shared, seamless digital infrastructure. The choice fell on Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, and Autodesk Fusion Manage – supported, advised, and implemented by Mensch und Maschine (MuM). The result: digital continuity from the initial product idea to operation and maintenance. Different bill of materials types, a seamless ERP interface to proAlpha, and an online product configurator that fulfilled customer requirements even ahead of schedule. The DEVO (Digital Evolution & Virtual Orientation) project, planned for approximately five years, is on schedule and within budget. What remains is a partnership based on trust – not contractual obligations. Project manager Anick Volger sums it up perfectly: "We work together not because we have to, but because we want to."
