Metal Work Pneumatik GmbH
About us
Metal Work is an industrial group specialized in the design, production, and marketing of components for automation, with headquarters in Concesio, in the province of Brescia, Italy.
The group currently consists of 59 companies located worldwide.
Metal Work S.p.A., the parent company founded in 1967, has gradually but consistently expanded its production and commercial structure to become one of the most significant entities in the pneumatics for automation sector. It offers a product range across five lines: actuators, valves, air treatment units, fittings, and handling components. Metal Work is constantly seeking solutions and products that meet the market new demands. This is reflected in the continuous expansion of its product range and the development of new applications and customized solutions. In recent years, the offering has expanded to include the production of electrical components and vacuum technology.
Currently, over 500 employees work at the Concesio (BS) facilities, while the Italian and foreign commercial structure is composed of over 800 people. Since 1992, Metal Work has been certified according to ISO 9001. In 2000, the certification of the environmental management system according to ISO 14001 was added. In 2007, Metal Work applied the British standard OHSAS 18001 to ensure a Worker Health and Safety Management System, later transitioning to ISO 45001 in 2019. All the mentioned certifications were issued by the German certifying body DEKRA ITS, accredited by TGA. Since 2016, Metal Work has also been certified as Elite, a project by Borsa Italiana in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Confindustria, and ABI, designed to support the growth of SMEs.
Sustainability has always been part of the company's culture. Sustainable practices from economic, social, and environmental perspectives are outlined in the recently published 2022 Sustainability Report.
Products & services

Actuators
Metal Work designs high-precision actuators, ideal for converting compressed air into controlled motion. From the simplest applications to the most advanced systems, we offer solutions engineered to ensure efficiency, reliability, and long service life. - Cylinders: they use air pressure to generate stable linear motion, ensuring robustness and consistent performance even in intensive duty cycles. - Handling: we design grippers, slides, and rotary actuators for secure gripping and precise positioning. A comprehensive range to handle every phase of handling. - V-Lock: modular system for quick and precise fastening, designed to simplify the construction of flexible automatic systems. - Hydro-pneumatic: we combine the advantages of compressed air with the precision of oil for applications that require enhanced control and superior power. - Electrical actuators: high-efficiency electric solutions for managing linear and rotary motion, seamlessly integrable into advanced automation systems, ensuring precise and safe control. Integrated solutions for the management of linear and rotary motion. Ideal for advanced automation systems that require precision and reliability.

Valves
Valves are the heart of control in compressed air systems. We develop efficient solutions to direct, interrupt, and modulate flow precisely and safely. - Valves: they enable reliable control of airflow in pneumatic circuits, ensuring smooth and precise operation. - Valve islands: Metal Work offers integrated solutions for centralized control, featuring digital protocols compatible with Industry 4.0 and simplified wiring. - EB 80: EB 80 is defined as an electro-pneumatic system as it would be simplistic to use the term “solenoid valve island”. In effect, a single assembly can combine solenoid valves of all types, multi-position bases, pneumatic and electric supplies arranged as desired in a system, digital or analogue input or output signal control modules and much more besides. The EB 80 system is protected by numerous patents and utility models, which enhance the most innovative design solutions. The possible combinations are endless, but the most amazing thing is that they can be obtained using a small number of basic components. In order to achieve this objective, a single size of small yet high-performance valves to cover the vast majority of applications was conceived. A single electronic control unit is provided when supplying 12VDC or 24VDC valves with multi-pole cables or with a field bus for each protocol. All EB 80 versions come with an efficient diagnostic system. - Multi-fluid process valves: valves designed to handle different types of fluids, ideal for complex industrial applications and environments with specific requirements.

FRL Units
We design compressed air treatment units that ensure purity, stability, and continuous operation. Each product line is developed to adapt to modern systems, offering compact dimensions and high performance. - Syntesi: compact and modular line with integrated functions as standard. High corrosion resistance and maximum reliability. - Skillair: FRL unit designed for simple operation and maintenance. Compact and flexible, it meets the most advanced standards. - BIT: the BIT range ensures compact size, negligible pressure drops, long service life, and excellent value for money. With these features, it is particularly suitable for decentralized applications and installation close to the final actuators. - New Deal: one of Metal Work's historic lines. Robust, durable, and reliable even in harsh, high-pressure environments. - ONE: Patented multifunction unit that integrates multiple functions into a single compact module. Ideal for optimizing space and performance. - Precision regulation and pressure control: we regulate pressure with both mechanical and digital solutions. Maximum precision, immediate response, and intuitive control. - Flow and pressure sensors: designed to continuously monitor system parameters. Pressure and flow are always under control, with a compact footprint.

Fittings
We design pneumatic connection solutions tailored to any system configuration. Reliability, ease of assembly, and a perfect seal: with Metal Work fittings, every connection is under control. - Metal Work push-in fittings ensure fast, secure tube-to-actuator connections, reusable thousands of times without compromising pneumatic or mechanical sealing. The release system is quick and easy: pressing the sleeve opens the spring, freeing the tube. Available in many configurations for metric tubes (Ø 3–14) and inch tubes (Ø 1/8–1/2), with G, ISO 7-1 tapered, metric, and NPT threads. Some models feature patented screwdriver-release slots or asymmetric wall-mount rings. - Standard fittings Series A are the most common for rigid or removable pipe connections. Available in various shapes (elbows, sleeves, reducers, tees, crosses, flanges), they come in brass, steel, stainless steel, or plastic. Used in hydraulic, pneumatic, gas, and industrial systems, they ensure wide availability and interchangeability under ISO, DIN, and UNI standards. Sealants may be required for proper sealing. - Series B compression fittings with double ferrule (bicono) use two rings tightened by the nut to grip the tube and ensure sealing, without welding or threading. They are reusable, reliable at high pressures, and made of brass or stainless steel with possible anti-corrosion coatings. Applications include pneumatic and hydraulic systems, gas lines, and industrial instrumentation. - Series C push-in fittings allow quick connection of plastic tubes (PU, PE, PTFE, nylon) directly into the fitting, with a steel ring securing the tube and a seal ensuring tightness. Made of brass or technopolymer, they enable tool-free assembly and disassembly, ideal for flexible tubing. Widely used in pneumatic systems, compressed air, automation, and small fluid distribution. Not suitable for very high pressures or metal pipes. - Series D fittings in OT 58 brass, with maximum pressure of 261 psi / 1800 KPa / 18 bar.

Accesories
