What began in 1949 as a small two-man operation founded by Ernst Küffer (1913–1996) in a garage has grown into a mature electrical engineering company employing more than 40 people. While we have continuously expanded and refined our core expertise in drive and control technology, our focus has always remained on maintenance.
Today, as a service provider, we cover the full range of our customers’ needs: whether on site or in our modern maintenance workshops, electrical or mechanical, trading or repair, urgent or planned — our flexibility is as diverse as our customers themselves. To meet the varied requirements of different industries and clients, training and further education, quality management, customer proximity and long-standing employees form the key pillars of our corporate strategy.

Products
Instandhaltungswerkstatt
In our maintenance center, we specialize in the brand-independent inspection, revision and repair of virtually all types of electric motors, generators, gearboxes, fans, compressors and compressors. In the event of unplanned equipment breakdowns, it is important for the operator that repair work is carried out within a useful period of time so that it does not result in excessive downtime costs. Maintenance and repair work on electrical drives is our core competence and has a long tradition with us. With a high level of technical and personnel availability, we guarantee our customers a speedy and competent solution. Our service portfolio is very extensive: It includes the replacement of wear parts, reconditioning of key components, up to load testing! If the repair of the engine is no longer economical, our new engine warehouse offers a cost-effective and timely alternative.
Wicklerei
In our winding shop, we specialise in the new winding and rewinding of stator and rotor windings for motors and generators, as well as transformers, chokes, solenoid coils and brake coils. We offer our customers a wide range of industry expertise — from analysing and documenting the existing winding to producing custom-made special windings. The craft of electrical machine construction is very much alive in our workshop, ensuring short repair times for drives that do not conform to IEC standards or are subject to long delivery times. Machine and plant service
The expertise of our specialists is ideally suited for the maintenance and repair of customer plants and machinery. Our demand-driven resources, combined with the customer’s process knowledge, result in an efficient and effective solution for the operator. Whether as part of a periodic service contract or on call for breakdown support, our services help you maintain high availability of your machines and systems. Our experience shows that requirements are as individual as our customers themselves: from servicing high-bay storage vehicles to ventilation systems — we step in wherever support is needed. By retrofit, we refer to measures carried out on an existing machine or plant that contribute to maintaining or even increasing its value. We can support you from planning through to implementation in the field of drive and control technology.
Electrical Maintenance
The expertise of our specialists is ideally suited for electrical maintenance on customer plants and machinery. Our demand-driven resources, combined with the customer’s process knowledge, result in an efficient and effective solution for the operator. Whether provided through a periodic service contract or on call for breakdown support, our services help you maintain high availability of your machines and installations. Our experience shows that requirements are as individual as our customers: from working through the deficiency list of a periodic electrical inspection, to machinery relocation, all the way to replacing frequency inverters — we step in wherever support is needed. Many of our employees hold the authorisation for electrical connection work in accordance with NIV Art. 15.

Device Testing
Equipment testing is also part of our service portfolio. Employers are required under the Swiss Accident Insurance Act (UVG) to regularly maintain and inspect the tools they provide to their employees, and to document these activities. The legislator recommends applying the recurring inspection according to DIN VDE 0701-0702. We are happy to carry out these tests for you, including all associated administrative tasks. Condition Measurement
We specialise in the condition measurement of motors and generators. From simple checks of winding insulation resistance to professional surge comparison testing of three-phase windings with graphical evaluation, we can offer you the full range of diagnostic services. As an operator of lifting equipment, you are required to maintain your installations and take all necessary measures to prevent occupational accidents. The applicable regulations are the Occupational Safety Act (EKAS), which came into force on 1 January 2000, and SUVA Directive No. 1845. Since crane systems represent a key element in the logistics or production processes of many companies, the periodic inspection of lifting equipment also serves as an early detection measure for potential failures and thus contributes to preventive maintenance.
Thermography for proactive maintenance
TControl systems today are just as important as the drives themselves. A fault in a control cabinet typically causes the same production downtime as a malfunctioning electric motor. But how can faults in a control cabinet be detected preventively? Thermography provides an effective tool: when a fault begins to develop in an electrical component, it often results in above-average heating of that component. Even after the first thermographic scan, potential weak points can be identified and corrected.

Revolutionise your motor procurement! Our self-developed nameplate app is an innovative solution that helps companies optimise their electric motor procurement process through digitalisation. It ensures energy-efficient maintenance of your drive systems and helps minimise unplanned downtime. With the nameplate app, the data of an old motor can be captured easily by taking a photo and converting it into a machine-readable format. Automated comparisons are then performed to identify the best replacement motor with an improved efficiency class. The app provides a list of suggestions that can be sorted by price, delivery time and energy efficiency.
